Cross My Heart

 How is your heart? No, I am not a doctor and I have very limited medical knowledge, but I know about the heart - mine in particularly! If you a Christian reading this, my guess is that your mind immediately goes to Jeremiah 17:9-19 (The heart is deceitful...and desperately sick. ESV). We all know that this is so true, but there is more to say about the heart. The heart is the seat of our emotions and desires. It is also a place where thoughts originate and decisions are made. It reflects a person's true character and intentions. And we know that God looks at the heart not just one's outward appearance!

We are to guard our heart and protect our heart from evil (Proverbs 4:23). One's actions are a reflection of one's heart's condition. The heart is a place where love, compassion and empathy originate. We are to love God with all of our heart.

It's a bit odd, isn't it! One's heart is 'desperately sick' and yet it is place from which one is to love God. I can't help reflecting on what King David said in Psalms 51, 'Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me,' when he was faced with this conundrum after committing the most egregious evil including adultery and murder. Only God can transform our 'desperately sick' heart with a new one. King David found that out, but had to live the rest of his life with the terrible consequences of his actions.

 ' The Human Story - The Chosen' (Part 1 of 3)   It is 2026 and the world has changed since I last posted on Blogger. How is it changed one may ask? The world is collectively holding its breath. We are not sure what tomorrow's headlines will look like. We are not sure about how many more thousands will be massacred than what we read about yesterday. The world wakes up every day anticipating that the violence we saw yesterday would somehow be explained away. But it just gets worse. The lies that were told yesterday is the truth that we read about today. Social media headlines scream at us, entice us, lie to us, promise us, inform us. The truth that we hold as self evident is denied by those over us. Once a government was thought to protect its people and to provide them with the resources for them to survive and thrive. What Remains.

Dawnian Productions has just uploaded our latest video, 'What Remains' on YouTube. The topic of this video is something many people are currently asking, the 'What will remain...' questions. What if one lost everything, what would remain in one's life that would give it purpose? When one loses capacity as one gets older, what remains? What remains when a family tragically loses a child? What remains when one's status and wealth are gone? What remains when one is no longer needed? What remains when one is left alone? What remains when one loses one's Christian faith?
