My Enemy

Image
My Enemy. In Luke 6:27-28, Jesus spoke these words '...Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you and pray for those who spitefully use you.' As Christians, these words are very familiar to us, but when one compare these words to what one sees and reads about around the world - how people, governments, nations and cultures interact with each other, one sees the opposite. I have never seen a time where there has been as much blatant disrespect, open hatred and animosity, acrimony, ill-will, antagonism, contempt, hostility and prejudice, as I have seen in today's world. One could spend a lifetime analysing why this is. One is drawn to 2 Timothy Chapter 3 in the Bible (We would encourage you to read it) where such things are foreshadowed in the last days.  One doesn't have to be a Christian to notice these things.  Dawnian Productions has just completed our latest video, 'My Enemy' This is now on YouTube. If you are reading this, ...

Eternity

Image
Eternity...the latest from Dawnian Productions and now on YouTube. Every heartbeat is a whisper of passing time. Every sunrise is one less that we will ever see. We build, we strive, we dream, yet all of our days slip quietly toward the horizon of eternity. The world teaches us to live for the moment, but the Bible calls us to live in the light of God's Word, and to follow in the footsteps of our Saviour and Lord. Eternity is not a distant idea - it is the destination of every soul. Beyond the final breath, stands the God who knows our name, sees our brokenness, and, through Jesus Christ, offers forgiveness, mercy and everlasting life to every person on planet Earth. The cross reaches further than death, and the empty tomb declares that the Grace, Mercy, Love and Faithfulness of God, is over and above all. Our prayer, at Dawnian Productions, is that you will see beyond the distractions we face each day, to the One who stepped into time that we might share Eternity with Him. '....

Touching Grass

Image
Touching Grass (Dawnian Productions latest video on YouTube).Have you ever felt that enough is enough! So many electronic devices, screens, complex instructions, passwords, QR Codes, wasted time etc, etc!! Have you taken off your shoes recently and walked in a field of grass? Try it. It is absolutely lovely! Have you recently stopped and touched the leaves on a tree and noticed how intricate and beautiful they are? Have you sat on a swinging chair and enjoyed the winter sun? Have you recently walked barefoot on the sand at the beach and as you looked at the ocean waves, knew in your heart that what you were looking at, was designed by a Creator? ? Have you recently looked at a rugged, majestic mountain and sensed something of the transcendent? Have you recently watched a sunrise or sunset that left you in awe? Have you recently looked up at a rainbow against a backdrop of a stormy sky, and noticed its beauty and its protective covering as it arches over the landscape? Have you ever wan...

Metadata.

Image
Dawnian Productions has just added the video 'Metadata' to its channel on YouTube. We live in an age obsessed with what can be measured, tracked, analysed and monetised. Every click, pause, purchase and location becomes part of a digital profile - a collection of metadata that tells the world who it thinks we are. Yet beneath the satire lies a deeper question, 'Is that really our identity?' Modern culture increasingly defines people by their data, productivity algorithms and online presence. We become statistics and consumers instead of 'image-bearers'. The danger is not merely technological; it is spiritual. When our worth is determined by what can be countered, we begin to forget the value of what cannot! God has never known us through metadata. He knows us personally. Before there was a digital footprint, our Creator saw us, loved us and called us by name. He sees, not just our action, but our motives, fears, hopes and the quiet moments that no database ca...

Tapping Out.

Image
Dawnian Productions has just completed, 'Tapping Out' (now available to view on YouTube). For those of you who are unsure of what 'Tapping Out' means. It signifies that one has given up, quit or has admitted defeat. 'Tapping out' is an expression I have become more aware of recently. It is something I have witnessed in other people. I have also recognised it in myself. One might be having a conversation, reading instructions on how to do something, listening to someone talk or explain something and I can see by their expression, their eyes, their body posture...that they have tapped out (I would describe this in myself as, 'eyes glazing over').  We live in an age of convenient exits. If a task becomes difficult, a relationship becomes complicated, or an idea challenges our assumptions, there's always a button to press, another distraction to chase, or another device to focus on. We've become accustomed to abandoning books, conversations, commitm...

The Naked Truth.

Image
Dawnian Productions has just completed the video, 'The Naked Truth' (now available on You Tube). Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was a prolific Danish author, poet and playwright. He is famous for the many literary fairy tales he penned, such as, 'The Ugly Duckling', 'The Emperor's New Clothes' and 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier'. Our video celebrates Andersen's literary genius, while reflecting on the story, 'The Emperor's New Clothes' and how it exposes the banality of the current cultural meme's, behaviours and 'truths'. We have realised that many people may not be aware of Hans Christian Andersen's writings, but we would encourage people to check him out. He explored a range of themes in his writing - the pain of being an outsider, the power of transformation, the clash between innocence and adult materialism, and the profound, often tragic sacrifices made for love. Enjoy and reflect.

The Password.

Image
Passwords are everywhere. They now include passcodes, PINS, access codes, login credentials, authentication keys, security tokens, verification codes, biometrics, fingerprints, digital keys, QR codes, OTP, encryption keys...and the list goes on. Those of you who are under 30yrs of age, will say, "Yeah, what's the problem?" Those of you who are somewhat older will still be scratching their head about 'OTP' (one time password or passcode). I've often wondered if it is possible to live in the 21st Century without having a password or passcode. Dawnian Productions has just completed a short video, 'The Password'. It can now be viewed on YouTube. The word, 'Password' first appeared in the late 1700's. It was used to describe a secret, spoken word required to get passed a sentry or guard. The Etymology of 'Password' is interesting. Roman soldiers used 'watchwords' to identify friends from foes at night. In the Bible, the Gileadi...
